Chelsea’s new boss Jose Mourinho has targeted Benfica star Nemanja Matic as a possible replacement for David Luiz, according to the Times.
There has been many reports which have claimed Luiz is to be sold to Barcelona in the summer window as he is not part of the Portuguese boss’s plans, despite Roman Abramovic seeing him as the future Captain of the club.
Mourinho is prepared to sell the Brazil international to raise money for the midfielder, central defender and centre forward he plans to add to Chelsea’s squad once his own four-year contract to return to the club is formalised this week.
And he has identified the brilliant Matic as the man that will be the force in the centre of the park that he needs
Many blues fans are questioning why Luiz could be heading out the door, But Mourinho must have his reasons and Matic has proven that he is a great player since he left Stamford Bridge.
