Manchester United and Liverpool target Asmir Begovic can reportedly leave Stoke in the summer window, for the right price according to Chairman Pete Coates.
The stopper had a brilliant season last year and is now rated as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.
He has been heavily linked with both United and Liverpool in recent weeks, as they look to add another stopper to the squad to challenge their currnet number ones.
And although Coates hopes that Begovic stays, the Stoke chairman admits every player has their price.
As quoted on the Daily Star website, he said: “We feel we’ve got as good a goalkeeper as any in the Premier League in Asmir. He’s better than nearly everyone I can think of and players like that will be in demand.
“He’s very ambitious and wants to do well and I don’t think a football club can stand in the way of Manchester United and that ilk. If they come in for him and the money is OK for us, we would do it.”
It will be interesting to see if either United or Liverpool now make a move considering there is no threat to their goalkeepers leaving in the coming weeks.
