Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has told Christian Benteke to stay until after the world cup as he can get a bigger move than the clubs that are currently chasing him.

The in-form striker has been sensational for Villa this year and has become one of the buys of last summer, despite many questioning that he has what it takes to make a real impression in the game.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with his services, but Villa will hope to offer him a new contract and double what he is currently on.

And according to reports on the Daily Mirror, Lambert will also advise Benteke that he will have all of Europe’s top clubs knocking down his door if he stays for one more season.

The feeling inside Villa Park is that another prolific campaign in the Midlands and a good 2014 World Cup, could attract the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Although Benteke has been brilliant, a move to Arsenal is more than a step up from Villa and Lambert will just be using Europes best to try and keep him at Villa.
